Let’s be honest, how could one cope in our Western culture without mustard? You might not be consciously buying it often but it truly is everywhere from your local sandwich shop to the poshest of restaurants, from supermarket snacks to frozen meals and of course fast food joints.
You cannot imagine how suddenly beautiful our world became when we started stocking chilli mustard. Just think about it for a moment: imagine tasting the particular and enticing mouth-salivating flavour of mustard whilst handling a good kick of chilli? Not convinced yet? Just try out one of these:
Hot Headz is our first stop, not only because Hot Headz have been in the business for more than 15 years and therefore know a thing or two about chillies but mainly because their products such as Hot n’ Spicy Chilli Mustard or Bajun Sauce are out of this world! You would not believe how varied mustards can be if you add certain types of chillies in them, like the Jalapeno and Serrano chilli pepper in Hot Headz’ Hot n’ Spicy Mustard.
Habanero chilli peppers are a must have for any chilli lovers so we were thrilled to get our hands on Dave’s Insanity Mustard which is nearly as evil as Dave’s infamous Insanity Hot Sauce! Dave’s Hurtin Habanero & Honey Mustard is an absolute treat for those who want to go on a tasty adventure. The combination of the fruity habanero and sweet honey turn this mustard into a tantalising chilli condiment that just floors us every time!
We were truly blown away by Firefoods’ Fire Horse Mustard which combines mustards seeds, horseradish and of course chilli to form a medium hot and incredibly fragrant mustard that we can just eat on its own with a spoon! We also love using it as a base for our cheese on toast which believe us makes an awesome difference!
A chilli condiment that we use all the time is Mad Dog’s 357 Extreme Mustard. As it names indicates, it is not for beginners! We like it as it is although we prefer using it to marinade chicken or use as a base for various sauces. It also adds a wonderful kick to mayonnaise so have your sandwiches at the ready!
Out of all chilli condiments out there, mustard is probably one of the most versatile and one you can trust and experiment with again and again!
